New Jobless claims rose unexpectedly for the second consecutive week.

In the week ending April 29, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 322,000, an increase of 5,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 317,000. The 4-week moving average was 314,250, an increase of 5,250 from the previous week’s revised average of 309,000.
