Note to Republikkkan presidential hopefulls: you better distance yourself from the Chimp if you want to do well in New Hampshire.

President Bush’s job approval ratings in New Hampshire have dropped to the lowest level of his administration, a poll released Monday said.

The poll said overall, only 31 percent of New Hampshire adults say they approve of the job Bush is doing as president, 66 percent disapprove and 4 percent are neutral.

“Bush’s low approval ratings hurt New Hampshire Republicans in the 2006 elections,” said Andrew Smith, director of the UNH Survey Center. “If they continue to decline, it will put an additional burden on the eventual Republican nominee for president in 2008.”
