Your President Speaks!

From today’s edition of the daily temper tantrum.

Here in Washington, members of both parties recognize that our most solemn responsibility is to support our troops in the war on terror. Yet, today, a narrow majority in the House of Representatives advocated its responsibilityby passing a war spending bill that has no chance of becoming law, and brings us no closer to getting our troops the resources they need to do their job.

  1. No, no, a thousand times no! Congress’s primary responsibility is not to support our troops in an imaginary war. It is to bring them out of the middle of someone else’s civil war, where they are unwelcome, obvious targets, and lacking in any rational objective. Congress, unlike Bush, understands that very well.

  2. Nora, that’s no bad idea.
When your chief executive comes off as the Minister for Silly Talks, you know it’s time to change the scriptwriter. Doesn’t do his “have a beer with” image any good if he malaprops his polysyllables.

  3. He’s not all that coherent at the best of times, but when he’s really pissed off, he gets even worse.
I’d recommend that he stick to short words that he can pronounce when he’s mad. That way he’s less likely to make more of an ass of himself.
E.G., “They dared to say no to me! They’ll be sorry! They don’t support the troops! They’re bad! They’re terrorists!”
You know that’s what he’s really thinking.
