Danke Schoen, Ms. A.

I’m sure I’m breaking the treaty between the Dharma Initiative and the hostiles by posting on a day other than my guest slot. That said, I’ll run the risk for this one.

I just spent the majority of the day in a meeting with the one and only, Athenae. It was a seven-hour meeting filled with general curmudgeonly behavior, a dwindling supply of coffee and it was about 70 degrees outside and sunny. That said, it was the best thing that happened to A all day, which tells you the type of horrendously shitty day she was having. So, with that in mind, I extend a hug of love and appreciation for all you do for me and the rest of your “Bleeps” (If twitter people are being called tweeple and “tweeps” for short, I guess we blog peoples are called bleeps. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.)

So, here you go. My homage to a lady who doesn’t think she’s seen anything good today:

Have a better tomorrow. We all love you.

Doc

  1. I find myself increasingly turning to this site for its insight, passion, and humor. If I could write one-tenth as well as Athenae I would die happy. What you do is much appreciated.

  2. Damn you, now I have to go put my makeup on again.
You guys are all awesome. Whenever I find myself talking about the blog, it’s like I’m talking about a big party/rally with some of the smartest and funniest people on the planet, and if we were all in one place at the same time I swear there’s nothing we couldn’t do. This site would be a lonely place if it was just me gabbing.
Thanks. Really. Now I’m going to go dig my mascara out of my suitcase and start again. Damn it. 🙂

  3. Don’t underestimate your power to beguile people with your brain.
Support and good feelings go both ways. You are a very important to the world. There is a reason you love Starbuck (but you are not the harbinger of death-expect maybe for the newspapers you are killing.)
You ofter hope and guidance even when you feel that you might not be the more bestest person to do it.
Thanks for being there for us.

  4. Great site and I am really pleased to see you have what I am actually looking for here and this post is exactly what I am interested in. I shall be pleased to become a regular visitor

  5. …I’m not sure I want to be a “Bleep”, Doc. In fact, given what I do for a living, I probably already am – in a different context – to many on the progressive side. But, still, it’s a good thing you did. Athenae is a special, passionate treasure of a voice in the ‘tubes and I’ll just nod toward spocko and say “…what he said”…

  6. Hey, this site is one of the things that helps keep me sane. So if we can return the favor now and then, it’s just a drop in the bucket for what you’ve done for me. Thanks, A.
And thanks, Doc. I kinda needed that to psych myself up for a dreary-looking Monday.
