Anger is boiling over at the chairman of the Barilla pasta company after he vowed to only feature heterosexual couples in commercials — and added that anyone offended by his anti-gay stance could buy a different brand of noodles.
Guido Barilla told Italian radio on Wednesday that he would never use a gay family to promote the world’s leading brand of pasta, according to The Guardian.
“For us the concept of the sacred family remains one of the basic values of the company,” Barilla said. “I would not do it but not out of a lack of respect for homosexuals who have the right to do what they want without bothering others…[but] I don’t see things like they do and I think the family that we speak to is a classic family.”

The president of Barilla is apologizing for saying that he would never use a gay family in the pasta maker’s ads.
Guido Barilla said in an Italian radio interview that his pasta is for the traditional family and said gay people could eat another pasta if they did not like his message.
“We accept his invitation to not eat his pasta,” said Aurelio Mancuso, president of gay-rights group Equality Italia, in a statement in Italian.
Boycotting Twitter users shared the hashtag #boicottabarilla, or “boycott Barilla.”
But Barilla quickly walked back his comments.

I would have preferred that the president of this company not have made a statement that I wholeheartedly agree with.
But having made it and allowing the Gay Mafia to force him to cower and back off has created a bigger problem for him
I have a pantry-full of Barilla products in our pantry.

Tough-talking Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is warning civilians who embark on armed patrols in remote desert terrain that they could end up with “30 rounds fired into” them by one of his deputies.
His unapologetically terse comments came Tuesday after a member of an Arizona Minuteman border-watch movement was arrested over the weekend for pointing a rifle at a Maricopa County sheriff’s deputy he apparently mistook for a drug smuggler.
“If they continue this there could be some dead militia out there,” Arpaio said.
Richard Malley, 49, was heavily armed with two others dressed in camouflage Saturday night along Interstate 8 near Gila Bend, a known drug-trafficking corridor in the desert about 70 miles southwest of Phoenix, when he confronted the deputy who was on patrol conducting surveillance, authorities said.
According to court records, the deputy and his partner stopped their vehicle, then flashed their headlights and honked their horn, a common practice used by law enforcement to trick drug smugglers into thinking the car is there to transfer their narcotics load and lure them out of hiding.

Obviously, the MCSO and the Minutemen need some better coordination to avoid incidents in the future. It could be as simple as the two agreeing on one-day challenges and passwords.
That is, when one group meets another they yell out their challenge word, and the other group has to yell their password if they have one. If they don’t, all bets are off.

And the words are issued out once a day to both groups, so after a 24 hour period they are invalid, and a new challenge and password are in effect.
I had no idea that liberals were so crafty. Guess I missed the memo.
So, does that mean that anyone who is not a “good Christian” can’t be a “good American”? What about “good Mormons”? Or “good Jews”? Obviously these guys think the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim, but what about “good Hindus” or “good Buddhists” or “good Jains” or “good Sikhs”? There are Native Americans who don’t believe in Christianity. Can they be “good Americans”? How about “good agnostics” or “good pastafarians” or “good atheists”?
And what the hell does “good Christian” mean? As someone who considers himself a Christian, I’ve got my own ideas about how to be a “good Christian”, which I’m sure most Freepers would deride. But so do Catholics and Baptists and Methodists and every other fucking little tiny sect of Christians.
But I suppose I’m looking for consistency from Freepers, and that’s a losing battle at the best of times.
Oh, considering all the efforts to make make Biblical Law the law of the land (despite that little “Separation of” thingy).
As many places have implemented various laws based on a very narrow reading of the Bible, doesn’t that mean that we have nullified the “Separation” between church and state and therefore opened the door to enacting Sharia Law?
Once again, in the far Reich is a strong thread of paranoid projection, transference / countertransference, etc.

OK, I’ll ask some stupid questions:
Unless the Barista commercials are XXX rated, how do I know which actors are gay? And just exactly what can you use pasta for in the bedroom (Seems like it would be too scratchy).
You drop off a group of wanna be Rambos who want to prove that they are He-men, give them military style weapons, convince them that they are the only ones who care about enforcing the law, put them in an area that gets heavy attention from both state and fed law enforcement (including the sherrif who has been caught in numerous civil rights violations as he tries to prove that he is the big dog). What could possibly go wrong? And di?dn’t the guy who used to be regarded as the head of these border Minute Men get into some embarrassing legal problems recently?

Hann1bal, like the old saying, Christianity is a great idea. Too bad no one has tried it yet.
Here on the local TV News is a frequent commenter who finds Gays icky, finds Blacks to all be street thugs, hates liberals, etc. but I’ve looked at her facebook page and until recently it had that she worked for a company that provides psychiatric type services and whose mission statement talked about therapeutic communities.
Her facebook page also has numerous of the overly sweet, devotional type postings, such as a picture with the caption don’t try to be a Christian, try to be like Christ.
