They got less freedom.”

If he had a better grasp of the fact that black family life has disintegrated in direct correlation to the "War on Poverty", he has a defensible position. Throwing out that "picking cotton" allusion is just stupid.

I mean, come on now. You can't stand around talking about how the negro should have learned to pick cotton. I mean, even the most hard headed amongst us should understand that you can't ally yourself politically with a person who makes such remarks.
Conservatives really, really, need to pick their battles better. How so many of us get suckered into supporting cranks, completely unelectable candidates, scam artists like Herman Cain who run for office to fund a book tour, etc, etc, I will never understand.

Actually, when I type "legitimate" into Google and "rape" is the third hit that comes up, that ship sailed long ago.
Seriously, the first think the NYT is going to do is send a reporter out there and say ‘What do you think about how the government treats blacks?’ and then write down the perfect response.

I’m reminded of George Zimmerman. The issues surrounding the shooting of Trayvon Martin were all correct. But Zimmerman personally was a tool; he was no shining example of conservatism. And neither is Bundy.

Republicans – including possible 2016 candidate Rand Paul — are scrambling to distance themselves from defiant Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy after he made startling comments about slavery and African-Americans in a New York Times article published Wednesday night.
From the Times’ Adam Nagourney:
“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.
“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. Bundy had previously drawn support from some GOP lawmakers for his clash with the Bureau of Land Management.

In statements after Bundy’s remarks, both Paul and Heller condemned his comments.
"His remarks on race are offensive and I wholeheartedly disagree with him,” said Paul.
And a spokesman for Heller told the Times that the senator “completely disagrees with Mr. Bundy’s appalling and racist statements, and condemns them in the most strenuous way.”

Bundy had it all, and squandered it. His comments (however true, that the minorities are enslaved by a new means these days) had nothing to do with his cause and he should damn well know that these comments will not be well received. It takes a professional (like Greenfield or Mark Steyn) to shave close to the truth without sounding offensive.
I cannot get behind this. We need to find another cause, the BLM and all the other agencies will certainly overstep (with lots of military-style hardware) again.

Her twin salaries put her on track to make more than $450,000 this year, a dramatic change in lifestyle for the tea party activist, who had filed for bankruptcy in 2008 and then cleaned homes for a period of time to bring in extra money.
I guess Jenny is too busy collecting tea party contributions and filling her own pockets to know or actually care about what H.J. RES. 104, which she is promoting, would actually accomplish. The only thing which seems important to her and her hubby about H.J.RES. 104 is that repealing the 16th Amendment sounds good and can rake in the cash, even if it wouldn’t actually end taxes calculated from profits, gains, salaries and other incomes.

The “Tea Party” movement was ground roots by people who had never before publically protested anything. More or less the “Silent Majority”.
It did not take long before the Grifters (not necessarily for $, but recognition and power) began to wiggle around trying to be THE TEA PARTY LEADER.
Most of us were turned off by these loud fringe types and went back to our normal lives, but still PO’d at gubmint and the grifters.
Whether Jenny Beth gained leadership for personal gain or the power, is one in the same. WE DON’T NEED NO STINKIN LEADER!
Yes, Bundy “dared to stand up to the USG and by extension, Harry Reid.” Because Harry Reid is bigger than the United States government.
I know a guy who consistently refers to, “the power-mad Harry Reid”, it cracks me up. What a tyrant he is to be sure! His over-the-top bullying is a real turnoff. He also says he’s not racist when he says he wants to “string up” the president. I say that’s a pretty specific phrase. He says, Well he wants to string up Reid as well, so that’s not racist. Much lulz on my part.

I’m always amazed at how the far right can spew a string of contradictory words out.
Recently had a conversation with a friend who is going through a divorce. His facebook posts are almost identical to Bundy’s gang. How he has right on his side and is above the corrupt govt. That they can put him in handcuffs but he isn’t going to pay a cent, etc. (admittedly, unlike Bundy, I do think the ex- did this friend dirty).
Last communication with him was about how far the US Govt has fallen with the Marxist, Fascist, Socialist, …. people in Washington being able to trample on the little people – followed by saying that the prime example is his ex (who is nowhere near being a politician, nowhere near Wash DC, nowhere near the state capital).
