Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with the Freeperati – Anti-vexer edition

Damn – sometimes, I’m glad we’re opening up these corroded drums of Freepitude protected by iso suits and piped-in clean air.

It looks like it may get a lot more dangerous than before…

Vaccine Critics Turn Defensive Over Measles

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Their children have been sent home from school. Their families are barred from birthday parties and neighborhood play dates. Online, people call them negligent and criminal. And as officials in 14 states grapple to contain a spreading measles outbreak that began near here at Disneyland, the parents at the heart of America’s anti-vaccine movement are being blamed for incubating an otherwise preventable public-health crisis.

Measles anxiety rippled thousands of miles beyond its center on Friday as officials scrambled to try to contain a wider spread of the highly contagious disease — which America declared vanquished 15 years ago, before a statistically significant number of parents started refusing to vaccinate their children. In recent days, new measles cases popped up in Nebraska and Minnesota, New York and Marin County in California. Officials around the country reported rising numbers of patients who were seeking shots, as well as some pediatricians who were accepting non-vaccinated families but were debating changing their policies. The White House urged parents to listen to the science that supports inoculations…

What is conspicuously absent from this article is where have all these dangerous diseases coming from? Illegal immigration has brought the diseases of the 3rd world right to our doorstep. American families concerned about the danger of vaccinations chose not to vaccinate long before the floodgates of the 3rd world were opened, and it is certain that they will continue.Watch for this issue to escalate, pitting faith based Americans versus their countrymen, conservative and liberal. This conversation is moving beyond the boundaries of private practice into the government, Local/State/Federal/Military who have for some time mandated vaccinations/shots that they have created. My question to people, are you so sure to put your family’s health in the hands of a government committed to population control (where 1/60 children are autistic after vaccinations)?

As a Bible Believing Born Again Christian (not Christian Scientist). I seek medical care and have nothing against the medical practice in general, but we always try to pray first before going to the hospital.

We would consider vaccination for a healthy older child, however for the children, we have to protect them from outside toxins.

Like your political views?

If people don’t like it, no problem, we never asked for their opinion and I will continue to use my doctor who feels the same way we do about vaccinations.

Fuck you and fuck your doctor.

But as a parent with many children, some of them grown, none of them have had vaccinations.

Yes.  We know. Now quit letting them go to Disneyland.

To this date, all have been perfectly healthy without Government

Except for the mental illness thing – there is that.

“”The White House urged parents to listen to the science that supports inoculations””

As well the science that supports global warming/climate change whatever. Right – I’ll get right on that!

I don’t vaccinate my daughter either…we’ve talked about we may not always have the choice, but I’d rather have the real diseases and get forever immunity anyway.

I’m so tired of the fear mongering and group think that on this one thing the government really knows best.

Looks like the Freepers who believe in (some) science are mounting a counterattack.
To: porter_knorr
I’d rather have the real diseasesI have to assume that you never had the REAL diseases nor saw the effects of complications arising from the REAL diseases. We, of the generation that had the real diseases, saw the birth defects caused by rubella during pregnancy, saw the wasting limbs left by polio (and the pictures of kids in iron lungs), gladly had our children vaccinated and were thankful that there were finally vaccines to eliminate these vile diseases.

It’s simple. I have enough evidence to mistrust the government and their eugenics doctors. It’s settled. They want to do science experiments on my kids. No, you don’t give a damn about anyone else’s kids…Fine, keep your at home and don’t infect public schools, libraries, transportation, entertainment etc etc etc…PATHETIC

So – this is a “don’t-trust-the-stinking-gubment” versus the “are you fucking INSANE?” factions.
Got it.

The “don’t-trust-the-stinking-gubment” types strike back:

Time to play the “Invading Mexican hordes” card:

To: Jan_Sobieski

“Anti-Vaccination” crowd my ass! This outbreak is without a doubt the result of illegal immigrants who have not been immunized. Any other argument is pointless and specious.

Who claimed that the primary vector originated in Mexico?

How may illegal aliens entered this country recently that were from south of the Mexican border?

Measles was entirely contained and controlled in this country prior to the recent deluge of illegal aliens entering from our Southern border, and that flow of illegal aliens originate from more or less every corner of the Southern countries of this hemisphere and many from outside of the Americas.

I think I like this one the best:

In the Spanish language learning series, “Destinos” – this segment filmed in Mexico – a Mexican doctor taking a patient’s temperature reads the thermometer, then simply puts it back in his lab coat pocket. Already for the next patient.

Pretty high standards alright.

You are judging “standards” of Mexican medicine based on an American-created, Spanish-language educational soap opera? Hahahahahahahahaha

The science-based Freepers mount another counter-attack :
To: aMorePerfectUnion
Of course, if your kids are vaccinated, you have no worries…Unless you have a child that cannot be vaccinated (those on or just finished chemo for example) or your child is under 12 months of age (babies cannot get the vaccine). The only protection those kids have is the “herd immunity” built up around them which fails when there are otherwise healthy un-vaccinated kids included.

“If people don’t like it, no problem, we never asked for their opinion and I will continue to use my doctor who feels the same way we do about vaccinations.”

But since you posted your point of view, I hope you don’t mind if I give you mine. If you find a doctor who feels the same way as you on vaccinations of children, he’s an idiot, and so is his patient.

“I can play that game.”

I hope you have fun playing “name that sodomite” forgive me if I decline to play.

You’re still an idiot for not vaccinating your kids, whether you are a sodomite or not.

Wow, are you an unbelievable idiot? There are a few vaccines that I would not bother to get, even for my children (Think the Flu vaccine, HPV vaccine and the Chicken Pox vaccine, but to keep your children from being immunized against Polio, Measles, Smallpox, etc, and I mean from PROVEN effective vaccines, is selfish and ignorant, no matter what lame ass excuse you put forth.

If you live in isolation, fine by you, but in a crowded society, you have some obligations that you should abide by, and no excuse is good enough to put so many others at risk due to your personal beliefs, IMO. That is a fundamental guideline of civilization, like it or not, believe it or not.

To belittle a person who disagrees with you as being a sodomite is asinine, arrogant, and puerile, IMO.

Then it gets REALLY personal:
To: Straight Vermonter

5 deaths in 15 years from measles, and none since 2005 – according to the CDC. However there have been 140 *329 since 1989* deaths after the MMR vaccination.

You’re right though, death is forever.

To: Jan_Sobieski

You and similar minded individuals are being proven correct.
The US pharma cartel has co-opted the medical establishment, forcing an insane amount of vaccinations on infants thru toddlers.
European vaccination regiments are no where as aggressive as those currently in practice in the USA.

This thread has everything – claims that vaccines cause autism (debunked), claims that the mercury in thiomersal is dangerous (wrong kind of mercury), “Messicans are infecting us” (stupid on the face of it), “Big Pharma is spreading relatively harmless childhood diseases so they can profit from them” (strangely, the same simpletons also think that Big Pharma is out to kill them, thereby reducing the number of consumers for their products – wait, wut?)
My Mother contracted German Measles (rubella) during her first pregnancy (I was her second). My half-brother was born deaf, mentally retarded, blind in one eye, and required life-long institutionalization. Needless to say, I got ALL my fucking shots.
My next-door neighbour had polio, and lived in leg braces and used crutches.
I never had chickenpox, and when it manifested in my mother as shingles, I couldn’t go near her.  (possibly a good thing, as I know the nursing home attendants had to wrap her hands in gloves made from gauze and tape to keep her from tearing at her own flesh)
I personally say that we should ground all air traffic for a day, put all the anti-vaxxers in planes, and send them all on a little trip – after turning off all those intrusive gubmint thingys like ADF, VOR, GNSS, and of course, those nasty air traffic controllers.
Two birds with one stone.
See you non-contagious people next Monday.

Nah, their un-vaxxed asses needs to be isolated from the rest of humanity. Stick ’em all on a little island, ‘way out in the ocean, just inches above sea level. Global “no! not happening!” warming will do the rest.

  2. My mother also had Rubella when she was pregnant with one of my sisters. My sister is mentally retarded and autistic. Whenever someone says the autism bullshit to me, I just say that my sister is autistic because there WAS NO vaccine.
