Long time lurker, love the pulp-fiction feature. You struck a nerve with this one. The Matt Helm novels are very well regarded to this day (I’m a member of a Yahoo! fan group.) My wife and I sat with Mr Hamilton on his yacht on one memorable afternoon in the 90s as he autographed my set of the novels. The classic BIG COUNTRY, with Gregory Peck, was adapted from his novel. We’re optimistic that Matt will make a more impactful impression than his Dean Martin parody, should a movie be green-lit.
Thanks, Chris. Glad you decided to unlurk. I must admit to not having read any of the Matt Helm books. I need to change that. Any suggestions as to where to start?
Two of my (many) favorites are The Intriguers and The Annihilators.
