Donald Trump’s campaign has begun formally vetting possible running mates, with former House speaker Newt Gingrich emerging as the leading candidate, followed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. But there are more than a half-dozen others being discussed as possibilities, according to several people with knowledge of the process.
Given Trump’s unpredictability, campaign associates caution that the presumptive Republican nominee could still shake up his shortlist. But with little more than two weeks before the start of the Republican National Convention, Gingrich and Christie have been asked to submit documents and are being cast as favorites for the post inside the campaign. Gingrich in particular is the beneficiary of a drumbeat of support from Trump confidants such as Ben Carson…

To: GirleneRecently, I have found that stupid smile on Newt’s face, for no reason, very annoying. It’s rather arrogant. He’s smart, for sure, but someone who thinks they’re so smart they can look down and have a rather scoffing attitude toward everyone else isn’t as smart as they think.

Gingrich just *has* to be Trump’s running mate. Newt is a dumb guy’s idea of a smart guy; Trump is a poor guy’s idea of a rich guy.

My mostest favoritist threads of the past week was the mashup of an annual July 4 posting entitled “DAD, WHAT’s UNABHÄNGIGKEITSTAG?” , which is a sentimental tale of a longtime Expat American (nathanbedford, really?) celebrating Independence Day with his child in Germany where there were comments like this: ‘Excellent -— your “tradition” enriches us all!’
And this post entitled Is an Expat Living Abroad a True American?: Answer? HELL NO!!!!!!
‘While still calling yourself an American citizen while living abroad it’s quite a bit disingenuous to say you are “engaged” in the fight for America.’
Expats cannot buy firearms in the US because they are not residents of a state—so in that sense the are less ‘American!’ than green card holders.
“ex-pat”, says it all: Ex-Patriot. Ex. As in gone, no longer one of us.
So the lesson here is name yourself after an anti-american rebel, war criminal, and founder of the Klan and your epistle on the beauty of the Declaration of Independence, get raves. Suggest living abroad to save money in retirement, get flamed.
