Album Cover Art Wednesday: Send In The Clowns

The clown theme continues with this 1974 Sarah Vaughan album cover. It features a photograph by Frank Kolleogy. I couldn’t find out who the clown is so consider them unlisted or unknown.

In 1981, Sassy recorded another album with the same title. This time with Count Basie. It had an unremarkable cover so I’m skipping it. I’m not clowning around here.

Here’s the whole damn album via Spotify:

  1. Sarah Vaughn was my mom’s favorite vocalist. Strangely I didn’t find this album amongst the avalanche of CDs and LPs I had to go through upon her passing. I did find the other one. Stranger still my mom loved clowns and had them all over her house (and I’m not referring to myself and my siblings). Perhaps the Evil Clown stole it from her…

  2. Nice story. Except for the cover, the Basie album is better.
