Strictly speaking, I’ll Cry Tomorrow is an EP, not a LP. But I wanted to follow up on Monday’s Susan Hayward influenced post. In I’ll Cry Tomorrow Hayward played hard drinking Lillian Roth a singer-actress with a mother of a stage mother played by Jo Van Fleet who played James Dean’s long lost evil mommy in East Of Eden. Oy just oy.

MGM initially wanted someone else to dub Hayward’s vocals, but the star won the right to sing. A good thing for all concerned.
