Tweet Of The Day: Woke Sky Edition

I’m late on this one but since it involves an imbecilic and incoherent comment by a Congressman from the Gret Stet of Louisiana, I felt duty-bound to post about it. Besides, I need a break from writing about Ukraine.

Even though I have no idea what a non-binary fuss is, I’m about to make one and attempt the impossible: reading Clay’s mind such as it is.

Is this what Clay had in mind?

That looks kind of woke but it’s a 1936 photographic print by surrealist artist Man Ray. He was some sort of lefty but woke was not a thing during his lifetime.

Clay mentioned ICBMs so perhaps he has fantasies of making like Slim Pickens in Dr. Strangelove:

I often have music on my mind so maybe Clay did too:

Those guys are all Boomers, so I guess not. Okay, Clay?

How about this Irvin Berlin classic? I seem to recall that Irving became increasingly conservative as he aged.

Woke skies, nothing but woke skies from now on.

It’s too cheerful even though Der Bingle was a Republican. Of course, he wasn’t batshit crazy.

Perhaps my focus is off, and I should hone in on the word woke. Two songs come to mind:

The Sopranos theme song is too gangster for Clay’s taste. He used to be a copper, after all. Rumor has it that he was one of these:

FYI, that’s Adrian Dunbar as Ted Hastings in the marvelous BBC show Line Of Duty. He catches bent coppers, coppers.

Back to Clay Higgins and the woke sky,

After much thought I’ve decided that like I have no idea what Clay meant. It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last.

The last word goes to The Beatles.
