The MSM is bummed. They were hoping for an open Democratic convention because it would be good teevee and fun to cover. Instead, Vice President Harris already has enough delegates to be the nominee. Besides, she’s already been approved as Joe Biden’s rightful political heir by delegates in 2020 and voters in the general election.

Repeat after me: That’s why we have a Vice President.

Joe Biden may not be the slickest political performer, but he knows what he’s doing. He orchestrated his exit from the race so beautifully that no other candidate accepted the MSM’s invitation to challenge the Veep. Nobody wanted to be the skunk at the garden party and be hated by the Black women who are the core of Kamala’s support. Wise choice.

Has-been Joe Manchin briefly flirted with a challenge but only the media took him seriously: He re-registered as an independent months ago. They have a crush on this mook who has accomplished nothing in the senate, shit stirrers never do. The media malakatude, it burns.

I saw the Veep’s speech to her campaign workers live. It was a triumph and introduced what is likely to be a recurring campaign theme: The prosecutor and the perpetrator. I think we all know who the perp is.

Here’s the money quote:

Before I was elected as vice president, before I was elected a United States senator, I was the elected attorney general of California. And before that I was a courtroom prosecutor. In those roles I took on perpetrators of all kinds. Predators who abused women. Fraudsters who ripped off consumers. Cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. Repeat after me: Vote against the crook, it’s important.

The legacy media loves its Democrats in Disarray headlines. They’ll have to settle for Trumpers in Turmoil. Team Trump’s entire strategy was aimed at taking Joe Biden down. There’s only one geezer standing now and it’s the Kaiser of Chaos.

The Trump pivot to Gamalian normalcy never happened. He claimed that he’d never mention the shooting again, but that was another lie. He’s actually marketing sneakers with a post shooting picture on it for $299. I am not making this up:

The logo should either be Fuck, Fuck, Fuck or Tacky, Tacky, Tacky. May its wearers step in dog shit every time they wear this scammy sneaker.

At least they’re not marketing oversize bandages like the one the Insult Comedian wore when he accepted the nomination. The only medical update we’ve had came from disgraced and demoted former White House doctor, Ronnie Jackson. Many in the media swallowed it like a raw oyster. Chumps.

I share a few things with Kamala Harris. We’re both from the San Francisco Bay Area. We both have a background in criminal law. Unlike the legacy media, she knows from credibility. In our world, if someone lies to you once, you’re skeptical. If someone lies to you twice, you refuse to believe them without corroboration. If someone lies to you thrice, you never believe anything they say.

As president* Donald Trump lied 30, 573 times. Why should we believe anything that lying sack of shit says? Only the gullible media and stupid Trumpers believe him.

Yesterday, I expressed my love, admiration, and respect for POTUS in my Thanks For Everything, Joe post. I’m gratified by the response including the friend who told me they didn’t know I did earnest and uplifting. Only when the occasion calls for it.

After Joe Biden withdrew, Rachel Maddow played a fun parlor game: Where were you when you heard?

I heard via text from my friend and occasional First Draft contributor Ryne Hancock. Ryne had submitted a tribute to Sheila Jackson Lee, which quoted her last tweet:

I told him I thought Biden would withdraw but would be glad to publish his post.

On Sunday July 21 at 1:18 central, we had this exchange:

Ryne: We can’t run that column tomorrow, can we? Because you called it.

Me: It’s happened?

Ryne: Yeah, he endorsed Harris.

It’s something I would have rather been wrong about but I’m a realist. I hope for a better world but accept the world I’m obliged to live in and make the best of it.

Allow me to paraphrase the late great Sheila Jackson Lee: The time is now to unite behind the Vice President and get to work defeating Donald Trump-one last time.

It’s Kamala’s time.
