I realize that many Democrats are leery of impeachment. Trump richly deserves it but I don’t favor impeaching him. Even after the blue tsunami, I don’t think he can be convicted by the senate. I prefer the approach taken by renegade GOP Congressman Thomas Massie: Impeach fake War Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Massie was defeated in the Kentucky primary, so he’s a lame duck. He introduced his articles of impeachment before the campaign recess. Actually, the impeachment resolution led to Speaker Yellowbelly DBA Mike Johnson calling an early recess. That’s why I call him Yellowbelly.

The Massie resolution is a thing of beauty. It has his fingerprints on it, not Democrats. It’s like an open shot at goal. Democrats should support Massie’s move, especially as it nails Hegseth’s egregious arrogance and rank incompetence.

There is, however, a chance that Hegseth will become Team MAGA’s fall guy for its election loss. JD Vance has blamed the Iran War for the Republicans midterm wipe out. He’s almost never right but he is this time. Vance’s own ugly and racist rhetoric didn’t help matters either.

I’ve had the Veep on my mind since it became clear that the Republicans would take an ass kicking in the late election. His chances of ever becoming president took a huge hit on Tuesday. It makes me wonder whether he’ll look into a 25th Amendment solution to the problem of a cognitively diminished president. I doubt that the Hillbilly Elegist has the cojones to go after the Insult Comedian but it could be the only way Vance will ever become president. I can’t see him winning office via the ballot box. People seem to be sick of electing assholes and he’s one of the biggest assholes in the land.

Back to Hegseth. His minions floated an exit plan before the election: Urging Marsha Blackburn to appoint him as her replacement in the senate if she was elected governor of Tennessee. She won and the Insult Comedian seems to be encouraging the Hegseth to the senate idea. It could be a test of Trump’s clout, which should be waning but sycophancy is a hard habit to break. Stay tuned.

The senate strikes me as an odd soft landing for the fake War Secretary: He’s widely disliked by senators of both parties; make that lethally disliked. I guess Hegseth doesn’t mind working with people who loathe him. He’s used to it.

Hegseth deserves all the opprobrium he’s getting. His attack on our military has been a disgrace. The purges have been based on race, gender, and “disloyalty” to Team MAGA. He deserves impeachment as do Todd Blanche and Bobby Junior. Fuck them and the MAGA horse they rode in on.

Finally, a personal note. I resent sharing a first name with this Christian Nationalist mook. Impeaching him would ease my agita on this peripheral matter. He’s besmirched a perfectly good name. Give me back my name, asshole. Give me back my name.
