I know we’re all somewhat inured to the gibberish that President Grievance babbles all day since the press generally treats it like everyday behavior (which I guess it unfortunately is), but on his Tuesday morning ramble the president blurted out some new stuff:
“Everything that you see, the money that’s being put up to build the ballroom, and again, the ballroom, it’s necessary for the ballroom to be built with what you see over here,” Trump said. “It’s all needed – the air conditioning, the heating, the drone capacity, the shield.”
He proceeded to describe the “shield” he claimed would safeguard the entire nation’s capital and the lower levels of the ballroom, which will accommodate military operations, he explained.
“You know, the ballroom becomes a shield for everything that you see right here,” he said. “Without that, they couldn’t have this. They couldn’t build the lower floors without that shield over the top of it. It’s a shield that will totally protect what’s downstairs.”

“The entire roof is developed for military. They’re very high. They’re higher than anything else,” Trump said enthusiastically. “They have a 360-degree vision of Washington, D.C. They have a massive drone capacity. Not only is it drone-proof – if a drone hits it, it bounces off. It won’t have any impact. But it’s also meant as a drone port, so it protects all of Washington, the roof of the building.
“I think they want to enhance what you see. It’s very powerful – you can see what’s happening. It’s very powerful concrete. It’s 9,000-pound concrete,” he stated, gesturing toward diagrams and visuals illustrating the construction plans. “If you know anything about concrete, it’s very strong. It’s very strong concrete. But they probably want to enhance the area.”
That’s a whitewashed version of the ranting and raving from the morning. But don’t worry, FOX is ready to add the details we need:
Trump said the future White House ballroom not just as an event venue, but as a hardened security structure designed to support presidential operations and large gatherings amid heightened concerns following a shooting tied to the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
OK, but that was a private event, and would have never been held at the White House to begin with.
The roof is “dead flat” with “absolutely nothing but strength on it,” said Trump as he went on to describe the roof as a “drone port” with “unlimited numbers of drones” and military positioning capacity.
“Dead flat” like the GOP’s midterm hopes, maybe?
“I hate to use the word snipers, but we have great sniper capacities built for our snipers. Not the enemy snipers, our snipers. And because of the height, we get a very clear view of everything all over Washington,” said Trump.
I’m very relieved that he specified whose snipers he thought would be up there. But I also know that he considers those of us who oppose him to be his enemies. And the idea that he’d have snipers on the top of the White House set to take down peaceful protestors is a worrying outcome. But I’m sure I’m just over-reacting. This is just a safe space for the president, any president, to bunker in during a national emergency.
See, it’s just one big vanity project:
Photographers captured images of columns, pipes and a walkway — emblazoned with gold lettering reading “45-47,” denoting Trump’s role as the nation’s 45th and 47th president — wending through the project.
That’s more like it. Except:
The president also touted the ballroom’s security measures, including what he said were planned defenses against drone attacks, as White House staff offered journalists sandwiches and drinks.
“At the top of the ballroom is what they call a ‘drone gallery,’” Trump said, adding later that the facility would be “set up for unlimited numbers of drones.”
The “sandwiches and drinks” is a nice counterpoint to the sheer insanity, isn’t it?
“This goes down six stories, because it’s already been built,” the president said, gesturing to the construction behind him. (Asked about Trump’s remarks on the building’s depth, the White House declined to comment.) He touted a planned “military hospital” and “research facilities” set to be under the White House too.
Trump also spoke about other efforts to secure the facility, such as installing air-conditioning equipment within the building’s frame rather than placing it in the typical site on the roof.
“We don’t have any air-conditioning equipment up there because we don’t want anything coming down through the pipes,” the president said.
Huh. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but it sounds to me that he wants this place as his own private fort. Oh good, it turns out he was clear about that, too:
Trump has said that he hopes to complete the ballroom by September 2028, calling it a “gift” to future presidents and the nation that will be used to host VIPs at the White House. He has touted nearly $400 million in private donations for the project, initially insisting that it will not come at taxpayers’ expense.
September 2028, huh? Right before a general election which will turn him out of power. Oh, I’m sure the timing is just a coincidence, because when you think of Trump, you of course first think about his generous nature.
I’ll leave you with this:
