Today on Athenae’s Obsession with the Freepi: Guns in the Temple Edition

Freepi on the church shootings. GoodLord:

Kudos to the “guard” who put an end to this quickly before it got worse.

Just doing the Lords work and helping another soul meet Jesus.

That’s why you don’t have “gun free” zones anywhere. “Gun free” zones attract deranged folks with guns, especially those with just enough sense to not want anyone shooting back.

A friend of mine is a bodyguard and is one of the ushers at his Pentecostal church. He told me several years ago that the ushers at many congregations are fully armed nowadays.

Every Sunday and Holy Day I attend services. Every CCW should exercise that responsibility, as we will not know the day when Islam will strike. I believe it is not a matter of whether but when it will come down, always be prepared.

With the threats (constantly) and the actions of today, Two officers (civilian clothing) is a necessity, plus two-way communication if the officers are out of sight of each other at any time. I do not enjoy typing this, but the times demand all be prepared.

  1. It looks like what these people really need at their churches is some men in white carrying big nets.

  2. A friend of mine is a bodyguard and is one of the ushers at his Pentecostal church. He told me several years ago that the ushers at many congregations are fully armed nowadays
but only for the special snake-handling services

  3. The SECOND that I saw that someone with a gun took down the shooter I knew the gun people would be ALL over this as a response to what happened in Omaha. “See! See! We need MORE guns! Too bad that the Omaha people didn’t see that and put people in the
    disarmament victim zones!”
BTW disarmament victim zones is what they are calling gun free zones.
My take on gun violence? The NRA won. They have an answer for EVERYTHING.
Now what I would like them to do is give their snippy little answers to the people who DID get shot and the relatives of the dead so that they can see how their clever answers go over in the face of what their views have wrought.

  4. I have decided that I could do without banning guns.
Now, banning gun *nuts*…*that*, I could get behind.

  5. An article in today’s Denver Post says the security guard felt god was with her. I guess she had never heard of “Thou Shalt not Kill.”

  6. What I liked was the comment by the person who, in the face of yet another shooting by yet another white guy, nonetheless felt compelled to discuss the Need to Defend Ourselves From The Impending Brown Menace.

  7. Too bad the security guard’s god wasn’t a little more on the ball. Rather than guide her aim in order to kill the gunman, why didn’t he have the foresight to cause the gunman to have a car accidentbefore he killed anyone?
