Lena Horne had class, style and impeccable taste.Ms. Horne died the other day at the age of 92 after a life well lived.
She was described by theWaPo’s Eugene Robinson as, “a glamorous, elegant revolutionary who helped change the way American eyes perceived black and white.”
Well said, Gene. She was also a great beauty who became even more gorgeous as she aged. Her singing voice became huskier and deeper with age, which made it very expressive indeed. In short, she was an icon.
