Did no one remind them of the long-running statements of papers that they make their money from advertising ? Meaning that Black Friday coupon editions are the biggest boon to their bottom line ?
And if the new strategy results in decreased sales of the paper (decreased readers) then the value of advertising decreases to the businesses buying the ads. So dare I ask if the newspapers will charge less for advertising in these editions ?
