Ever since I wrote the Blue Dahlia post, I’ve had the phrase monkey music on my mind. It’s not driving me as crazy as it did Buzz as you can see above. But it’s got me thinking about songs with monkey in the title. One could call it the earworm as monkey shines syndrome or something.

Speaking of soul crooners rocking out:
“I’m a peanut flea-bit monkey, all my friends are junkies.”
I knew Peter Gabriel had arrived when there was a Shock The Monkey reference in an episode of Cheers. It’s was after Lilith’s hen party and the jokeĀ involved a stripper. I wish I could find the clip but what I can I say?
Finally, a dash of funky misanthropy from the late, great Warren Zevon:
I fear the monkey in your soul
I meant to ask for suggestions. Thanks, Greg.
