Malaka Of The Week: Alina Habba

Alina Habba is a New Jersey based lawyer who joined the Trump Bedminster Golf Club so she could meet its owner. It went so well that she was hired as one of his personal attorneys. And that is why Alina Habba is malaka of the week.

Habba is one of Trump’s teevee lawyers. Her courtroom role thus far has been limited, the featured image notwithstanding. Quite literally, Habba is the Indicted Impeached Insult Comedian’s mouthpiece. For the rest of the post, I’ll refer to her as Malaka Mouthpiece because I’m trying to avoid any Hubba Hubba Habba Habba jokes inspired by Habba’s frequent cleavage displays.

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t comment on her appearance BUT most women lawyers I’ve known dress professionally without displaying their, uh, assets. Brains win cases, not boobs. Of course, her client is a boob so…

Last week, Malaka Mouthpiece opened her big fat bazoo to threaten a Supreme Court Justice. I am not making this up:

“Brett Kavanaugh, the US supreme court justice, will “step up” for Donald Trump and help defeat attempts to remove the former president from the ballots in Colorado and Maine for inciting an insurrection, a Trump lawyer said.

“I think it should be a slam dunk in the supreme court,” Alina Habba told Fox News on Thursday night. “I have faith in them.

The supreme court said Friday it will consider the Colorado matter.

“You know, people like Kavanaugh, who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place, he’ll step up. Those people will step up. Not because they’re pro-Trump but because they’re pro-law, because they’re pro-fairness. And the law on this is very clear.”

Clear? The law is murky in the DQ case, but it represents Team Trump’s best chance to win a legal argument. The threats were made to impress the Indicted Impeached Insult Comedian. Empty threats are his jam.

I’m no fan of Brett Kavanaugh. I covered his confirmation hearings so extensively that there’s a First Draft category dedicated to it, The Kavanaugh Mess. I also gave him an unflattering nickname: Justice Bro, based on his passion for beer. Bottoms up, Justice Bro.

Having said that, Kavanaugh is the least bad of the three Trump nominees thus far. He’s positioned himself as a pragmatic problem solver. Since he perjured himself during his confirmation hearings, I’m uncertain how real that is, but it makes threatening him a dicey proposition.

I suspect Kavanaugh is pissed off over being verbally threatened by a parking garage attorney like Alina Habba. Past presidents have hired distinguished criminal lawyers to represent them. Trump hires lawyers who will look and sound good on teevee.

Adding to the absurdity of her threats, Habba was hired to work on the New York cases. She has no qualifications to work on either of the constitutional cases being litigated.

Shorter Adrastos: Alina Habba is a gadfly and kibitzer.

Alina Habba’s threats make her sound like a mob lawyer. Gotti mouthpiece, Bruce Cutler, made similar threats, which led to his disqualification. There’s that word again.

Malaka Mouthpiece has also slandered New York Attorney General Leticia James:

“Ms. James has, in my mind, always been a bit of a fame-hungry human being that has put her politics in front of the interest of New York State,” Habba, who is representing Trump in the case, told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures.

“She wants to completely wipe clean the bank account of the Trump Organization. She wants to hurt individuals who have done nothing wrong. She wants to disgorge them of their severance pay,” Habba said.”

Ironies abound in these comments. Is there anyone more “fame-hungry” than a Trump lawyer? And that is why Alina Habba is malaka of the week.

I’ll be back with a discussion of the Court of Appeals argument on the immunity claim tomorrow afternoon. Wednesday mornings belong to Cassandra, after all.

Alina Habba remains a small time attorney with ambitions to make the big time. Peter Gabriel gets the last word:

UPDATE: There’s more to the story of Habba joining Bedminster that I was aware of. My friend Michael Styborski shared a link with me that fleshes out the story, click here.
