JD Vance, Cringe Stalker

We already now that the Vance team is run by tone deaf weirdos, though to be honest, I’m not sure who else would agree to work with the cringe factory that is Vance. The team’s latest brilliant idea is to schedule Vance rallies all week in all of the places that the Harris/Halz campaign is visiting this week.

My initial reaction was to laugh because the contrasts between their events was going to be funny. I don’t think I will ever get tired of seeing Vance humiliated, and this was a classic setup for that. And then it got weird:

Wait, what? Vance was out on the tarmac looking for the VP? What the hell? And of course there is video:

So Vance decided to go over and confront VP Harris? Because that’s a thing where a candidate gets to get in the face of the sitting VP? What are we even doing here?

JD Vance briskly marched up to Air Force 2, Kamala Harris’ plane, planning to give political reporters a show as he confronted the vice president uninvited on Wednesday. His power-play dreams, like most of his chaotic veep run, were immediately thwarted once he realized Harris was not present.

“I just wanted to check out my future plane,” Vance told campaign reporters gathered on the tarmac in Wisconsin.

He didn’t get the chance to face Harris but said that he “wanted to go say hello to the vice president and ask her why does she refuse to answer questions.”

If you’re a woman, you recognize this behavior:  it’s stalking. It’s putting yourself into the life of a person who wants nothing to do with you. It’s the entitlement of saying it’s going to be “his” plane. It’s crossing the line, uninvited, into her space.

And then there’s the blame he assigns to her—because he decided that she wasn’t acting appropriately, he felt he and the right to go and openly confront her. See, it’s *her* fault that she didn’t do what he wanted, so he had to come after her in real life.

I know a lot of people, and especially women, can relate to how creepy this all is. It immediately reminded me of this:

And maybe the weirdest thing about all of this is how fucking clueless Vance is:

I didn’t watch Succession, but, uh, no. Just no. This is not it.

I mean, I shouldn’t be surprised that the guy who wants to surveil menstruating women feels free to stalk the VP. But still, right? Vance is just so awful.

I’ll close with a classic song about stalking:

  1. So after his little stunt came a cropper because the Vice President wasn’t there to receive him, did Shady Vance take questions from the reporters on the tarmac, or did he duck back inside his vehicle to finally address the folks waiting for him at the sad little warehouse?

The only thing missing was the Pee-wee-esque “I meant to do that.”

  2. “Entourage” wasn’t about cool guys walking in slow motion, Vladimir Futon. It was about, in Jeff Tiedrich’s phrase, the “douchiest douchebags” on the planet. And it only figures that Shitheel McCouchfuck wouldn’t have a clue about that.
