Congratulations to Cassandra for writing a post about the Insult Comedian’s joint address without a picture of that stupid SOB as the featured image. I didn’t watch. I saw enough clownery and malakatude on the parade route in the waning days of Carnival 2025.

My Carnival ended on a high note on Lundi Gras, which has long been my favorite day of festivities. Orpheus is the most underrated parade in New Orleans Carnival. The floats are gorgeous and the music sublime. The crowds are thinner because many take the night off to prepare for Mardi Gras day.

Some knuckleheads in Orpheus thought it would be a good idea to drive Tesla Cybertrucks as escort vehicles in the parade. It was a lousy idea: New Orleans is a blue dot in a sea of Gret Stet red. Democratic presidential candidates routinely get 80% plus in Orleans Parish. Harris received 82% of the vote here. Donald Trump is as popular as the measles in my city.

Back to what happened when the ugliest motor vehicle I’ve ever beheld hit the streets of New Orleans. These videos were taken not far from where Dr. A and I watch Orpheus at the beginning of the parade route:

Before we saw the ugly ass vehicle, we heard waves of boos along the route. Everyone in our section joined in the booing. It was marvelous and I daresay life affirming. There were several of these motorized trash cans in the parade; they were all booed, pelted with beads, and driven off the parade route in disgrace.

I thought everyone needed something positive after President Pennywise’s epic rant, which in length and veracity was reminiscent of speeches by Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. Oy, just oy.

Repeat after me: Dictators are windbags. That goes for wannabe dictators like the Kaiser of Chaos as well.
