I’m still in the same place I was after yesterday’s rant and I’m probably even a little angrier because normally I love to celebrate Independence Day. A little “1776” (it’ll be on some cable channel for sure), some good food on the grill, and then all of the fireworks that my neighborhood loves to put off for a few hours after dark.

I’m going to be grumpy this year, and maybe you will be, too. If you have a long weekend it’s a good time to avoid the news channels, to go for a ride to the farm market, or to listen to the annual cicadas which are just now emerging en masse in the back yard.

I’m tired of being furious about the state of the country. It’s not a constructive place to be. So I’m going to use the time to find a better frame of mind.
