Brandon Herrera is the Republican nominee for the 23rd district of Texas. It’s the second time he’s run for the seat. This time, he became the nominee after scandal plagued Congressman Tony Gonzalez dropped out. Gonzalez had zipper issues. Herrera should zip it. His big mouth keeps getting him in trouble.
Herrera loves guns. He has a YouTube channel dedicated to gun videos that’s expanded to include his MAGA proclivities. He’s even become a gun manufacturer of sorts. That’s why his Twitter/X handle is @TheAKGuy. We’re not talking Alaska, y’all.
Malaka Brandon hopes to spread the permitless carry gospel nationwide. Sounds like a violation of federalism to me but when did MAGA maggots start caring about shit like that. If they’re for it, it’s awesome. Freedom, man.
Crack NYT columnist Michelle Goldberg wrote a scathing piece about Malaka Brandon this week, He Says Obscene Things About Mothers and Children. Mike Johnson Is Raising Money for Him.
La Goldberg begins with a focus on his dirty mouth and mind. Due to Gray Lady squeamishness, she had to link elsewhere to publish the exact language, but Herrera actually calls babies “cum trophies.” I am not making this up. He sounds like a populist porn producer to me.
Speaker Yellowbelly DBA Mike Johnson claims to be a family values evangelical Republican. How can he justify supporting a shitbird like Herrera? Easy: Johnson specializes in defending the indefensible. He’s already sold his bible banging soul to the adjudicated rapist Donald John Trump. Johnson’s support for sexist MAGA malakatude extends to Florida’s Cory Mills and Max Miller who Cassandra has written about here and here. Miller’s violent abuse extends to what Malaka Brandon would call his cum trophy. In a word: Gross.

In a 2022 video, Herrera and a buddy in sunglasses and a balaclava tested a Nazi-era submachine gun, then goose-stepped to a Nazi marching song. Herrera called the weapon “the original ghetto blaster.” In a 2024 podcast, after calling for abolishing Social Security, he joked that we should also “abolish old people,” laughing along as his co-hosts riffed about killing them off as in the cult horror film “Midsommar.”
Charming. Does he think that the 80-year-old Kaiser of Chaos should be abolished or is it just a bro joke? Perhaps I should call Herrera the Insult Comedian Junior.
Herrera has even revived the Biden era wingnut slur, Let’s Go Brandon, as a campaign slogan. It’s another sign that the MAGA faithful are nostalgic for the pandemic. They miss all the “own the libs” opportunities presented by lockdowns, masks, and vaccines. They’ve somehow forgotten that it was Jared Kushner on behalf of his father-in-law who pushed for COVID vaccines to be finished sooner rather than later.
In a sane world, Trump would brag about how many lives he saved with the vaccine stuff. GOP World hasn’t been sane for quite some time: Mitt Romney ran away from his Massachusetts health care plan in both 2008 and 2012. Back then I called it the Palin factor, but she’s been surpassed in lunacy by President Pennywise and his MAGA minions.
Nuts have always run for office. They’ve graduated from candidates to nominees because of MAGA madness. The House should have a crazy caucus to augment the Freedom Caucus. Malaka Brandon may be too out there even for that benighted group. He’s so extreme that Democrats have added Texas 23 to their target list. It’s a district that Trump carried but it’s worth a shot.
