I found what happened in New Orleans today–the process–to be just depressing.

I’ve struggled with what to say but foundWhat Adrastos Says sums it up well I think.

Like BRox and Sophmom in the comments, I wonder if there isn’t more coming.
On the other hand, it’s a “holiday” and people are broke and worn out.

Virgotex…I suspect the protesters will do more. But those buildings are coming down. If they lay in front of bulldozers they’ll haul them off to jail.
Hopefully folks will make sure HUD follows through on redevelopment.

I was too depressed by the whole thing yesterday to write about it. What happened to Bush’s promise of federal land to build on? Why can’t we start building mixed-incomethere, and when that’s habitable, tear down 1 project, rebuild that, fill it up, tear down the next… I just don’t get it, except the obvious point that there are a lot of people that the powerful few in NOLA don’twant to come back.

I’ve said this same thing somewhere else… don’t remember where. I actually find the wacky process fascinating. The results are depressing… but if you expect them to be otherwise by this point one wants to ask if you’re truly been paying attention. 🙂

Note: Yes, I know you pay attention.. I was… well you get what I mean.

I wouldn’t call it expectation jeffrey …more like crazy clinging to hope
