  1. I know a person who consistently refuses to vote in favor of school referenda because she thinks the cars in the teachers’ parking lot are too nice. She is unfortunately more the norm than a nutcase.

So, tell me, is she also one of these “think of thechiiiildddreen!!” types? Seems to me that for all the rhetoric about how we have to do this or that or the other thing, or neuter adult society completely because some poor sweet innocent child somewhere might be permanently damaged by some random terror lurking somewhere in the great out there, if people were really serious about making society better for children, they’dfucking fund public schools.

  3. No, she’s not a “think of the children” type. She’s a “think of my own child” type, which means that you can cut everything but what benefits her angels. That translates into passionate speeches at school board meetings when members dare to discuss music cuts or a cut to a sport her kids participate in. The worst kind of “involved parent”. Her involvement ends at her kids.
