Occupy Maine folks get a present:

PORTLAND — Portland police are looking for the person who threw a chemical bomb at the Occupy Maine encampment in Portland during the early morning hours today.

Sgt. Glen McGary said police responded around 4 a.m. today to an explosion in Lincoln Park at Congress and Pearl streets.

Though no one was injured, McGary said the homemade bomb, which consisted of chemicals poured into a plastic Gatorade container could have caused serious injury.

Hmmm…guess it’s a Galtian overlord giving the looters and moochers just what they deserve (was Megan McArdle anywhere in the area?)…

Compared to other events over the past few years, would this qualify as an act of terrorism? Obviously it is an act meant to deprive them of their right to free speech.
And I wonder if the maker of the bomb in some part perceived permission to do this based on the police actions to break up the protests.

  3. Yes, this is terrorism – the very definition of it. I would expect to see much more of this in the coming days, and I’m actually kind of surprised it took this long.
Police involvement? Hardly. Those of us from the South don’t have to look too far down the road of history to see what happens when Public Service Commissioners and Concerned Citizens Councils get in bed with subhuman terrorist organizations.
All that being said, I can hardly imagine the reaction if something like this had ever happened at a Tea Party event.

I think Kristallnacht would be a good example of the reaction. It would be open season on “vile, hate-filled liberals”.
