Boehner to electorate: Stop treating me like I treat you!
Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) displayed a rare flash of anger at outside conservative groups on Wednesday when asked about their opposition to a two-year bipartisan budget deal struck between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA).
“You mean the groups that came out and opposed it before they ever saw it?” a visibly angry Boehner told reporters Wednesday, his tone rising. “They’re using our members and they’re using the American people for their own goals. This is ridiculous.”
Yeah, they’re using you! To accomplish things! Because they put you in office, you ignorant pigfaced buffoon, and that’s how the system you designed fucking works.
I hate to side with anyone in this story, but I have to side with the voters who’ve been told for years and years and years that their racist, rabid slaverings were worthy of the GOP, whose donations were gratefully accepted and whose concerns were duly attended to. I have to side with the teawads, the anti-tax dickheads, and everybody who ever sent them a single damn dime, because all they’re doing is demanding the services they were promised for the price they faithfully paid.
You were happy to cash their checks and eat their food and drink their booze, and now they want you to do their bidding, and you want to look good. You want to look “independent.” You want to look fair. You want to look mainstream. You maybe even want to get something done. Well, guess what? It’s too late now. You are their creature. A good percentage of your caucus belongs to them, and you were perfectly happy about that when it meant you got to sit in the big chair and make the big noise.
You don’t want to be their dog? The time to object is when they first put on the collar. Not when they start jerking the chain.

Yes, there’s a small part of me enjoying the schadenfreude, watching the monster they cynically created turn on themselves…
But the downside is that they could really drag us all down with them…which would really, really suck.
Thanks, Athenae. Glad to see that you’re as angry as I am. The GOP created this monster and are now finding it hard to handle. The debt is being called and the powers in the R party are really in a bind. I like it.

Agree with everyone, including MichaelF on the downside. Because if there are two things we know, it’s that 1) sooner or later we’ll be negotiating with the GOP again on SOMETHING, and 2) Congressional Democrats are lousy-ass negotiators.
