Morning, all! Firstly, in The Endless Freepathon(tm) news, the usual trick of throwing subsciptions and pledges into the total at the last moment and declaring victory doesn’t seem to be working so well lately.
The Thick Red Line’s been sitting at 84% for a week or so now. Was Lincoln right?
Anywhoo, let’s pause in the mining of Freeper Fools’ Gold from days of yore and get right to the new stuff, shall we? Theres a lot of infighting this week as the pseudo-libertarians and the for real fascists lock horns.
ISO suits on – blowers on max – airlock seals lubed (my favourite part) – rubber duckie dangling from light fixture…
KIBITZER!!! Very funny. Take that down please, before I shoot it.
Thenk yew.

Ron Paul: Manning ‘should be released’Politico ^ | 8/22/2013 | Breanna Edwards
Posted on Thursday, August 22, 2013 6:34:00 PM by Republican Wildcat
Former Rep. Ron Paul believes that Chelsea Manning — previously known as Bradley Manning — has done enough time in custody for the WikiLeaks scandal and should be released.
Paul, who made his comments at a Reddit AMA session on Thursday, agreed that Manning should’ve been punished for practicing civil disobedience and breaking the law, but Manning’s time served until now, as well as the other factors in the case, should prompt Manning’s release.
“He deserves some punishment, but he has already received (in my estimation) excessive amounts of punishment. He has been in prison for over 3 years as well as tortured, and most military personnel who are caught committing war crimes never receive any penalties.” Paul wrote when asked about Manning’s sentence.
“I think he should be released now, that he has done us a great service by letting the people know the truth[. He’s] a whistleblower in my estimation (even the courts did not charge him with aiding the enemy), and I believe his goal was to inform the American people of the truth about what was happening in the Iraq / Afghanistan Wars,” the veteran politician who now runs his own Internet show wrote.

Oh dear.
To: Republican WildcatPaul should be committed.
To: Republican WildcatRon Paul is correct. The US Government is the enemy of freedom.
To: Republican WildcatPaul is nuttier than squirrel poop.
To: Republican WildcatGiven where the socialists and RINOs have led us I really want to support Libertarians when I can as I believe this country needs a strong dose of “leave me the Hell alone” inserted into the mix. Then crazy crap like this comes out. I hope Rand doesn’t want to release Manning.

Libertarians on the street are okay guys — we even sometimes agree. But their icons are often nuts.
To: Republican WildcatIf the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree, then Rand Paul’s political career will soon be history.
To: Sirius LeeRon Paul’s ridiculous positions pretty much more than cancel out all of his correct positions on the issues. This one is so off the wall that one can only conclude that Ron Paul is certifiably insane.
He needs to shut up and go away before he destroys his son’s political career.
To: Republican WildcatRon Paul is absolutely correct. Manning should be released.
From a B-52 at max cruising altitude over the Pacific.
To: Republican WildcatI think Manning should be released as well . . . providing that he is standing on one of these with a properly fitted and adjusted hempen necktie:

Bill Kristol Doesn’t Want Any More Credit for Sarah Palin’s Career (Elspeth, again)
The Atlantic Wire ^ | August 20, 2013 | Elspeth ReevePosted on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 8:12:13 PM by 2ndDivisionVet
When Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol suggested on Sunday that Sarah Palin restart her political career by running for Senate, people noticed, because more than anyone else —more than John McCain, the candidate who picked her as his running mate, more than Steve Schmidt, the adviser who urged McCain to do it — Kristol is credited with launching Palin’s career. On Tuesday, Kristol made it clear he does not want all that credit (or blame).
On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Nicolle Wallace, who was Palin’s aide during the 2008 campaign, asked Kristol, “How did you feel as sort of being branded as the godfather of Sarah Palin, Inc.?” He responded, “It’s not the worst thing that’s ever been said about me. You know, I have a thick skin.”Of his suggestion she run for Senate on Sunday, Kristol said he was not predicting or endorsing a Palin candidacy in 2014. “I was asked, ‘Does Sarah Palin have a future?’ and I just tried to give an analytical answer — which is, I don’t think she does…” They don’t even chat these days, he said. “I haven’t been in touch with her in a year or so.”
Why does Kristol get so much Palin blame? By October 2008, Palin’s vice-presidential candidacy looked so disastrous that The New Yorker published an explainer for how she got to be picked as McCain’s running mate in the first place. Jane Mayer pegged Kristol as the No. 1 culprit. A circle of Republican commentators had developed a political crush on Sarah Palin during a luxury cruise to Alaska in 2007, she reported. Kristol was her “most ardent promoter… and his enthusiasm became the talk of Alaska’s political circles.” By the summer of 2008, Kristol was campaigning for McCain to pick Palin…

She was the only reason that millions of conservatives and others voted for McCain, yet they want to paint her as a disaster? MMmmkay.1 posted on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 8:12:13 PM by 2ndDivisionVet
To: 2ndDivisionVetShe is the only reason I voted at all that year.
To: 2ndDivisionVetI agree with you, but Bill Kristol was the person who brought her to the national stage. He likes her.
…But he knows that the resignation thing is something that she is going to have to overcome.

Earlier this month, Palin floated the idea ofchallengingDemocratic
Sen. Mark Begich in 2014. A PPP poll released Tuesday showed Alaskans
were lukewarm to the idea of Palin running for the Senate. She trailedBegich by double digits and Alaskan voters had a 58 percent unfavorable rating of Palin.

Here we go again.
The DeKalb County schoolboard chairman says a there is an active shooter at McNair Elementary School. Chairman Melvin Johnson said there have been reports of shots fired. There are no reports of injuries.
The gunman has not been located.

Channel 2 Action News crews are on the way to the scene. Check back with WSBTV.com for updates.
To: ZakeetI’m going to go out on a limb and predict it’s one of Holder’s people doing it for Travon.

Maybe an armed Georgian will take out the attacker.
Or an unarmed school office employee. One of those two, anyway.
So brave to attack children. Satan is Real.

A drill for what?
To: 1rudeboyA drill to make America think it was real to forward 0bama’s upcoming second term agenda of gun control. Amazing how just the right thing happened to give 0bama all the ‘ammo’ he needed to begin his assault on the 2nd Amendment right before he started his second term.
Reminds me of the BP oil rig disaster setting the stage for 0bama’s assault on big oil with countless moratoriums.
What timing, huh!

To: CivilWarBrewingAlrighty, then. School-shooting/oil rig explosion conspiracy, it is.
To:Haven’t the police reports been hidden to never be shown under some state secrets law – unprecedented. I recall hearing something about that.
Also the bodies of the children were not shown to the parents and then not at the funerals either. Where are the parents of the real kids that can be proven to be gone from the community. Those parents that spoke a few days after the shooting were bizarre. They did not act in a way grieving parents would have nor speak about their apparent lost child in a normal fashion.
To: ZakeetI bet the perp was stopped by…wait for it…someone with a GUN.

I’m a little amazed the wingnuts haven’t declared Antoinette Tuff as The Enemy for talking the shooter down instead of shooting him. She ruined the Gun Nut Superhero narrative!
FTFY. (Manning is a woman.)
Did you really have to start off telling me that Ron Paul and I seem to agree on something? (I’d say that Manning was a whistle blower regarding to a group that was lying to Congress. Ditto for Snowden. If anything else, the constant lies to Congress and the people make any number of conspiracy theories believable).
And as proof of making conspiracy believable, the local comments on the TV News station also included the oldie but goodie that Sandy Hook was a conspiracy and that no kids were killed (even thought the Florida professor behind that one has since recanted – but no one ever reads the corrections/errata hidden in small print on page 20).
RE: Bill Kristol and Palin.
I thought Billy Crystal was a comedic actor. Would definitely explain the Palin connection (who couldn’t even handle a book tour).
Oh, sorry, wrong Bill Kristol.
But jazusamo is working hard to restore the balance.
