Irked In July

Une Semaine by Max Ernst

Today’s featured image is what NYT publisher A.G. Sulzberger sees in the mirror. The head belongs to Joe Biden. This is, of course, not the first time the NYT has bent over backwards to prove that it’s not part of the so-called liberal media. They act as if Joe’s last name was Clinton. Then there was the run-up to the second Iraq War. No wonder I’m cranky.

It’s that time of the month again: when I vent about all the irksome shit in the news. Everything in the legacy media seems extra irksome right now. Let’s get to some vexatious venting about irksome things.

I’m irked that the NYT’s discredited and badly reported Parkinson’s story has only been updated, not retracted. The mere headline is damaging: Parkinson’s Expert Visited the White House Eight Times in Eight Months.

The NYT failed to do its job. They didn’t check to see if the neurologist had seen other patients. He had.

They also failed to check President Biden’s schedule, which would have shown that he was out of town on the dates in question.

Biden has seen a neurologist 3 times as a part of his annual physical, not the 11 times claimed in the original article.

Once upon a fucking time this would have led to a retraction. That’s no longer the case. I blame the NYT’s chief White House hack Peter Baker.

I’ve taken issue with Baker on stories about Ben Barnes and Slumlord Jared in the past. The worst thing is that this sanctimonious mook and I have the same first name. Give me back my name, fuckhead:

I’m irked that the NYT is beating the bushes to get famous people to Biden bash. George Clooney of all people wrote an op-ed urging a Biden exit. The tone isn’t as nasty as some other pieces, but why should we listen to a fabulously wealthy movie star on such an important issue? If this mishigas leads to a Trump victory, Clooney can live in one of his mansions abroad while America takes it in the neck from the MAGA maggots.

Compounding Clooney’s malakatude is that he attended the recent Hollywood fundraiser for Biden. If his concern is so sincere, why didn’t he step the fuck up and say something then?

George Clooney is a follower, not a leader. Fuck him. He should be sentenced to repeated viewings of his worst movie, The Men Who Stare At Goats.

I’ll let George’s auntie Rosie sing us into the next segment:

I’m irked that the media obsesses over every Biden verbal stumble and gives his lunatic opponent a free ride. Trump says stupid and crazy shit every time he opens his big fat bazoo. Plus, he lies so often that nothing he says can be believed.

The Insult Comedian is as nutzoid as the character in this Kinks song:

I’m irked that the legacy media has bought into the latest MAGA big lie. They claim that the abortion plank in the GOP platform is moderate because it no longer mentions a constitutional amendment banning abortion. If that’s a moderate position on abortion rights, I’m Rishi Sunak when I’d rather be Keir Starmer.

A reminder that Trump’s abortion position shifts on an hourly basis. At the “debate” he claimed that all legal scholars wanted Roe overruled. That’s yet another feeble and easily refuted lie but the legacy media keeps getting fished in. Fuck them.

Finally, I’m irked that the legacy media not only mocks Joe Biden’s stutter they do it sneeringly as if he were a deeply stupid child. It’s a speech impediment made worse by aging, not a sign of senility. It’s fair game because ageism is one of the last socially acceptable forms of bigotry. Everyone ages, the alternative is much worse. Fuck that shit and fuck them.

The last word goes to BTO:

  1. Yeah, I generally have a less-than-optimal view of the MSM, but the last couple of weeks they have tied my last nerve to a railroad track that both the express and the local use multiple times a day.
