The great Tony Bennett died last July. I’m sure he would have been as excited as everyone else by the candidacy of Kamala Harris. I’ve have had Tony’s signature song in my head all week because of the former San Francisco District Attorney’s ascension to the top of the Democratic ticket.

I Left My Heart In San Francisco was written in 1953 by George Cory and Douglass Cross. Tony Bennett wasn’t the first to record the song, but he assumed ownership in 1962.
