Scammers gotta scam. Flimflam men gotta flimflam. Con artists gotta con. Donald Trump has gotta grift.  .

You can see The Insult Comedian’s latest scam above. It’s a bona fide Trumpified two-dollar bill. This one celebrates his post-shooting bravado. I learned about it from TPM’s Morning Memo man. I had no idea that for a mere for $19.95, they’ll slip you a two. Sounds nasty, doesn’t it?

I’ve heard of waving the bloody flag: it’s what pro-Union pols did after the War of the Rebellion. But I’ve never heard of waving the bloody ear. That’s not inspiring, it’s just fucking weird.

I was even more surprised to learn that the Trumpers have run a variation on this grift before. The original two-dollar bill scam featured his Fulton County mugshot:

I may have some qualms about Thomas Jefferson, but in spite of his flaws, he deserves his place on the nickel and the two-dollar bill. He was a great thinker, a fine writer, a shrewd president, and a genuinely fascinating figure. Jefferson’s most obvious flaw was owning slaves, but he still shouldn’t be removed from this unofficial two-dollar bill in favor of the Kaiser of Chaos.

Jefferson believed in democracy, at least for white dudes in powdered wigs. He would have been appalled by Trump’s cotton candy piss hair and his criminal record. Like most Americans, TJ wouldn’t have considered being indicted to be a badge of honor worthy of placing on legal tender. It should be tender in a different way: a sore spot.

The markup on the Trumpified two-dollar bills is a remarkable 900%. I am not making this up, they’re marking it up.

At least Donald is still married to Melania. It’s ironic that two out of three Trump wives have been immigrants. Team Trump seems to take a different view of immigrants:

Is the MAGA fever finally breaking? It seems to have gone down in the last few weeks. The polls have shown for quite some time that a large slice of the public didn’t want a Trump-Biden rematch. They don’t want a dictatorship or monarchy either. Can you imagine a hereditary monarchy with Don Junior in the on-deck circle?

Who wants a convicted felon and legal tender defacer in the White House? Only the members of the Trump cult.
