One of the problems you have not when very smart people are out canvassing for votes is that they get things wrong. Sometimes they get things horribly wrong. And sometimes they get things hilariously wrong and we can laugh at MAGAts. This is one of those stories.
On Tuesday, MAGAt Cliff Maloney trumpted to the Twitter universe that his organization had uncovered some shocking voter fraud:
BREAKING: a member of the PA CHASE discovered an address in Erie, PA today where 53 voters are registered.
Turns out it’s the Benedictine Sisters of Erie and NO ONE lives there.
We knocked on the door because a Republican mail-in ballot is unreturned.

You should read the thread because it gets increasingly heated, and it’s hilarious.
Of course, there is no voter fraud—the canvasser knocked on the monastery’s guest house instead of the entrance to the monastery itself and the nonsense ensued. And of course the sisters are not committing voter fraud:
UPDATE: I just spoke to Sister Anne McCarthy who lives at the monastery and she confirmed "that's where I woke up this morning." She said she estimates approximately 60 sisters are currently living there, many taken care of there until they pass away. She is the coordinator of… https://t.co/tX9kkmcJr5

Nor are they talking these accusations lightly:

I mean, the sisters have a website. You can look them up and even check their names against the online directory.
MAGA isn’t sending its best, I think we all know that. And we all know that this could have had a much less humorous outcome.
And in that the monastery is home to a non-partisan peace ministry, you have to wonder how much of the stupid mistake is actually a targeted attack on some vulnerable people—because that smells very much like MAGA bullshit.
Let’s hope they’ve learned their lesson. Here’s some nuns the MAGAts definitely don’t want to cross:

“Nuns vs. Nazis” is not the plot-line I expected, but here we are.
