For my entire life, Republicans have bragged about being the daddy party, mocking Democrats as the mommy party. What’s manly about caving to an Insult Comedian with a dead nutria pelt atop his head? Not a damn thing. Besides, women are tougher than men: watch any Joan Crawford or Barbara Stanwyck film noir for confirmation.

Under our constitutional order, the three branches of government are supposed to be equal. The executive branch has taken more and more power over the years, but this is ridiculous. Congress could stop the Trump-Musk wilding but fear the consequences; make that Congressional Republicans. They act as if Proud Boy caudillo Enrique Tarrio will personally shoot them in the head in front of their family if they assert their powers. They’re running scared:

The country is crying for political courage and they’re crying for mercy from the Kaiser of Chaos. Schmucks.

The legacy media keeps publishing stories of how upset anonymous GOPers are by what’s going on. I’m sick of this whitewashing of craven cowards who are aiding and abetting a Fascist takeover of our government. Instead of cowering in the corner, it’s time for them to:

Another irksome aspect of the current crisis is how many Congressional Republicans say one thing in Washington and something else to their constituents. Political courage involves consistency instead of wishy-washiness. They’re stalling for time because they’re too afraid to face the consequences of their party being led by a twice impeached convicted felon and adjudicated rapist. How is any of this manly?

A majority of Congressional Republicans support taking an axe to government, allowing Reich Chancellor Musk to do it is a surrender of their power and responsibilities. If they want to abolish the Department of Education, they can do it legally by voting on it. Instead, they aid and abet the Trump-Musk crime spree. It’s like the cop on the beat who’s too scared to blow the whistle while witnessing a murder. Daffy Duck has a word for it:

Here’s the bit I hate: criticizing Congressional Democrats. Many persist in acting as if these are normal times. It’s time for them to just say no to every Republican initiative.

Ten House Democrats voted to censure Rep. Al Green for his act of protest during President Pennywise’s endless speech. The entire process or lack thereof was a violation of regular order. It’s a record setting two-day censure without process or investigation. That’s a reason for even those who prize decorum over good trouble to vote nay, not aye. Schmucks.

Having said that, I’m opposed to primarying the Al Green Ten unless they’re in a safe blue district. We need to keep our numbers up and primarying members defeats that purpose. Why? The GOP’s House majority is so small that some upcoming by-elections could shift the balance of power. Trump’s insistence on appointing Congresscritters to his administration has left an opening for voters to strike back. Make it so.

I would like, however, for Hakeem Jeffries to call the Al Green Ten on the carpet and give them a right barracking. That’s British slang for yelling at them like Gordon Ramsay yells at the hapless cheftestants on Hell’s Kitchen. I’d even call them this:

Being polite never stopped a bully. I’ve come to believe that the “modern” approach to dealing with bullies is one reason for fecklessness on the part of so many Congressional Dems. Trying to reason with a bully is the schoolyard equivalent of appeasement.

Repeat after me: Dare to be unreasonable.

I was only bullied once. When I told my parents, my father showed me some pugilistic rudiments and told me to fight back against the bully. I recall him saying, “Even if you lose the fight, you’ll win by standing up for yourself.”

He was right. I lost the fight, but the bullying stopped. It never resumed.

Let’s talk title. It’s not all that curious that Congressional Republicans are too cowardly to stop the madness. They rolled over for the Kaiser of Chaos in 2016 and have never reasserted their independence. The post title is a tribute to Arthur Conan Doyle and Erle Stanley Gardner who were fond of curious cases and the phrase itself.
