Trofim Lysenko was a Soviet agronomist who was responsible for the starvation of millions of Soviet (and later, Chinese) citizens. Why? Because he was a weirdo dumbass that the party leaders decided was a genius. Sound familiar?:

Of peasant background, Lysenko rose to prominence in the mid-1930s as an agronomist who was sharply critical of Soviet scientists for pursuing genetic research which he regarded as evidence of their slavish adherence to “bourgeois” biology. Instead of the Mendelian genetics championed by Nikolai Vavilov, Lysenko saw in “vernalization,” that is, the application of cold and moisture to seeds before planting, tremendous possibilities for expanding agricultural yields. His claims to have transformed a variety of winter wheat into spring wheat and to have achieved other breakthroughs, though lacking in scientific merit, resonated with Stalin and other political authorities who were desperate for advances in food production. They also appreciated his home-grown, “proletarian” plain-spokenness as compared to the restrained rhetoric of academic science.

Lysenko really thought Mendel was too woke for his own good. I wish I were kidding, but these are his own words:

The supporters of the so-called chromosome theory of heredity who have appeared here denied that they are Weismannists and almost called themselves opponents of Weismann. At the same time it has been clearly shown in my report, and in the many appearances of the representatives of the Michurinist movement, that Weismannism and the chromosome theory of heredity are one and the same thing. Foreign Mendelists-Morganists do not conceal it in the least.

It led to starvation:

Such claims were exactly what Soviet leaders wanted to hear. In the late 1920s and early 1930s Joseph Stalin—with Lysenko’s backing—had instituted a catastrophic scheme to “modernize” Soviet agriculture, forcing millions of people to join collective, state-run farms. Widespread crop failure and famine resulted. Stalin refused to change course, however, and ordered Lysenko to remedy the disaster with methods based on his radical new ideas. Lysenko forced farmers to plant seeds very close together, for instance, since according to his “law of the life of species,” plants from the same “class” never compete with one another. He also forbade all use of fertilizers and pesticides.

Wheat, rye, potatoes, beets—most everything grown according to Lysenko’s methods died or rotted, says Hungry Ghosts. Stalin still deserves the bulk of the blame for the famines, which killed at least 7 million people, but Lysenko’s practices prolonged and exacerbated the food shortages. (Deaths from the famines peaked around 1932 to 1933, but four years later, after a 163-fold increase in farmland cultivated using Lysenko’s methods, food production was actually lower than before.) The Soviet Union’s allies suffered under Lysenkoism, too. Communist China adopted his methods in the late 1950s and endured even bigger famines. Peasants were reduced to eating tree bark and bird droppings and the occasional family member. At least 30 million died of starvation.

It wasn’t until after Khrushchev died that Lysenkoism was repudiated in the Soviet Union. But by then the damage was done.

Today we have a dumbass, who also isn’t a scientist, who also doesn’t understand science, and who is beloved by the BRAINLESS sack of meat that holds the White House who is also trying to kill millions of people with a series of stupid decisions, such as Wednesday’s decision to stop funding research into mRNA vaccines.

Like Lysenko, Bobby Jr. is an ignorant man who thinks his mulish stupidity is a superpower.

 

The decision to stop funding mRNA research is based solely on a lie RFlysenKo made up:

“To replace the troubled mRNA programs, we’re prioritizing the development of safer, broader vaccine strategies, like whole-virus vaccines and novel platforms that don’t collapse when viruses mutate,” Kennedy said in the video.

KENNEDY: “As the pandemic showed us, mRNA vaccines don’t perform well against viruses that infect the upper respiratory tract.”

THE FACTS: His claim is contradicted by scientific evidence. Countless studies show that vaccinated individuals fare far better against COVID-19 infections than those who are unvaccinated, while others have estimated that COVID-19 vaccines prevented millions of deaths during the global pandemic. The mRNA vaccines do not prevent respiratory diseases entirely, experts say. Rather, they can prevent more serious illness that leads to complications and death. For example, an mRNA vaccine against COVID-19 may prevent an infection in the upper respiratory tract that feels like a bad cold from spreading to the lower respiratory tract, where it could affect one’s ability to breathe.

“A vaccine cannot block a respiratory infection,” said Dr. Jake Scott, an infectious diseases physician and clinical associate professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. “That’s never been the standard for a respiratory virus vaccine. And it’s never been the expectation, and it’s never been that realistic.” He called Kennedy’s claim “misguided.”

None of the fact-checking matters right now though. It’s in the interest of Stephen Miller and the rest of the fascist ghouls who are running the country to have a country full of people who are too weak to fight back because they are sick from Covid complications, cancer, chronic illness, etc., and don’t have the life-saving discoveries from mRNA research.
