Your Monday Morning Republican Juggernaut Update

From Holden:

I see that Florida’s media and portions of the blogosphere finally read Katherine Harris’ Florida Baptist Witness interview, which of course you read here first in your Thursday Morning Republican Juggernaut Update last week (funny, no one else noticed that the photo of Harris posted with the interview bears little resemblance to her).

Over the weekend she tried to backpedal from her stuningly un-American comments, explaining that her words were meant for a Christain audience (so you were bearing false witness to the Florida Baptists, Kathy?).

Her attempt to answer a simple question about whether the United States is a secular nation remind me of Chimpy’s definition of sovereignty.

Asked if the U.S. should be a secular country, Harris said: “I think that our laws, I mean, I look at how the law originated, even from Moses, the 10 Commandments. And I don’t believe, that uh . .. That’s how all of our laws originated in the United States, period. I think that’s the basis of our rule of law.”
