Your President Speaks! Again!

Today, at theWhite House.

What The American People Have Got To Know

People in America have got to know there’s a website called Fly.FAA.Gov; that’s where the FAA transmits information on airport backups directly to passengers and their families.

Is There To Be Get Transmission?

In other words, part of making sure people are not inconvenienced is there to be — get transmission of sound, real-time information.

Reagan Fired The Air Travel Controllers

In February, my administration sent Congress an FAA modernization bill that would improve the aviation system for all involved. The bill would upgrade aviation technology — by adopting a safer and more automated air travel [sic] control system based on GPS technology, instead of the radar and radio-based systems designed during World War II.

  1. That’s funny…I thought Congress was supposed to send bills to the president, and not the other way around.

  2. Shouldn’t someone let him know that GPS is already the standard for aircraft aviation?

  3. General Aviation (the little planes) generally use GPS for navigation these days, but the big guys (airlines) still rely on the FAA’s national airspace system of radio beacons, air routes, radars, and computers. The FAA has spent gobs of money modernizing their system with electronics, but it’s still ground-based. Bush was referring to a new system that’s partially ground-based and airborne, that will enable pilots to get a display similar to what controllers see on the ground today.

So, is the shrubnit going to go back in time to update the “air travel control” systems for WWII?
I like how he is trying (hard?) to make it ‘easier’ to travel during the holidaze, when any other time, he is trying to make it more difficult for normal Americans and normal non-American tourists to get anywhere when it involved the airport. “Oh! Someone, somewhere doesn’t like me – ah’m gonna raise the terra alert!!!”…
All the heightened ‘security’ (yawn) has yielded is a landfill’s worth (or more) of ‘confiscated’ hairspray, dasani bottles and scads of Johnson’s No More Tears and such – oh, and anyone who has had to suffer the indignity of standing barefoot in line contracting some manner of foot fungus from the person an hour before you in line…that’s real safe. NOT!
So, hey, C+ Augustus – what IS it? Are we needing the extra security at the airports, or aren’t we????
    Make up your witless mind!

I get it through the fillings in my teeth.

  6. Hi Swoosh,
and what are the chances that Shrub is going to tell the airlines that they have to pay the money to do this or that he can do it without raising taxes?

  7. Is there get to be transmission?
Yes, and you can haz it! But not until Caturday.
