Obamacare Death Watch (Update #96)
Posted on March 20th, 2010 by Ryan Booth Submit We’ll be updating this
entry all weekend. Follow us on Twitter for notifications of the latest
updates.
Update 3-20, 8:55 AM: As I predicted last night, prospects for a
Stupak deal appear to be collapsing.I’m putting the word “death” back
in the thread title — shame on me for taking it out.
Looks like the Admin mod took it back out. Probably a good idea, considering how it turned out for you.
Update 3-20, 8:00 AM: Stupak was right. Back on Wednesday, he told
The Hill in an interview:
“They’ll call me the night before and say, ‘Hey, we’ve got to work
this out. We don’t have the votes,'” he said. “Then we get serious.”

Well, considering that the business geniuses at Fox News also said the 20007-2008 market crash wasn’t happening, and wasn’t really a market crash, and that you should stock up (heh) on shares of Countrywide, I’d take that advice with a carload or two of salt.
To: SE Mom
Stupak is the Dems “fly in the ointment.” Unless Pelosi decided
to compromise and meet the demands of Stupak last night, his press
conference will be about why he is voting “NO” and what the Democrats
can do to get him to “YES.”
Stupak will be the American people’s hero at the end of this.

And what about the children of those families who currently have
good, employer-provided health care WHO WILL CERTAINLY LOSE THAT GOOD
COVERAGE when the government option is mandated?
Because some children don’t have insurance, is it good to ruin it for
other children?
Because there aren’t enough lifeboats, is it good to ruin it for first-class passengers?
Sadly, in their communist minds, it is. That is exactly what they
mean by “justice.”
Sadly, in your alleged mind, climbing over others to get what you want is a noble endeavour.

Well Huckabee just mentioned it on Fox news so maybe everybody’s
trying to check it out like me. The WH comment line is closed, Stupak’s
number is busy, I need to call someone.
And when she picks up, tell her that you’re sorry you forgot everything she tried to teach you about sharing.
Or maybe that’s the problem.

Only God can stop this madness…but I doubt he is willing to stop
it dead in it’s tracks. His beloved church has fallen asleep and mute.
See the next post. That should fix ya up.
IF this monstrosity fails, than God has seen the cries and prayers of
this church…but to be honest I don’t think too many churches care
about this vote. They are too busy planning activities for their
enjoyment! Our country and church has lost it’s way…sadly I’m afraid.
Be ready and watch that you will not be carried away with the things of
this world for we do not belong here but are just Pilgrims passing by.

InNew Zealand hospitals
are public and treat citizens or permanent residents free of chargeDistrict Health Boards.
Under theLabour coalition governments (1999 –
2008), there were plans to makeprimary health care available free of
charge. At present government subsidies exist in health care. The cost of
visiting a GP ranges from Free to $45.00 for children and from Free to $75.00
for adults under the current subsidies. This system is funded by taxes. The New
Zealand government agency PHARMAC subsidizes certain pharmaceuticals depending
upon their category. Co-payments exist, however these are lower if the user has
a and are
managed byCommunity Services Card orHigh User Health Card. In 2005, New
Zealand spent 8.9% of GDP on health care, or US$2,403 per capita. Of that,
approximately 77% was government expenditure.[18]

Freedom Works, a Washington, D.C. based advocacy group that latched
onto the Tea Party movement last year is now threatening to abandon the
grassroots movement in the face of a propaganda onslaught by the
Democrat party and the media.
Speaking toPolitico,
Freedom Works spokesman Adam Brandon said that media reports smearing
Tea Party protesters as racists could cause Freedom Works to give up its
support for the movement:
“Tattoos last forever,” said
Brandon, quoting his boss, FreedomWorks chairman and former House
Republican Leader Dick Armey. “If the movement gets tattooed as at all
sympathetic to those (racist and homophobic) views, I won’t want to be
involved in it anymore. It’s very distracting not only to our side but
also to the debate and the country.”
The failure of so-called
Tea Party leaders to stand up to the Democrat/Media smear machine this
weekend has given the machine an opening to hurt the movement that they
are exploiting. From personal experience I know that 99.999 percent of
the Tea Party movement are decent people who would not yell the things
the Democrat/Media machine is accusing them of yelling. For Freedom
Works to talk about shunning them because the Democrats and the media
smear them is an insulting betrayal, but to be expected from the inside
the Beltway crowd.

I’m trying to figure out just exactly what they mean by all of that “loss of freedom” stuff. I mean, Ihave taxpayer-funded healthcare, and as far as I’m concerned, that makes me one hell of a lot freer than any American, because I cansee a damn doctor without having to kowtow to some insurance company bureaucrat, and I’m not shackled to some crappy job I hate (or some marriage I’d desperately like to get out of) just for the health insurance. Also, if my experience with American friends with even good insurance is any indication, I’m also free of the massive hassle of having to fight with insurance companies every step of the way to get them to pay for treatment, and free from fighting with doctors who won’t take responsibility for anything, being as the profit- and insurance company-driven system encourages doctors to specialise to the point of meaninglessness, so Americans wind up seeing six doctors (who won’t agree on anything and won’t sign any required forms) where a Canadian in a similar situation would see one. And don’t even get me started on privately-run workers’ compensation systems run though insurance companies;that is a nightmare of Hell that came out of the fevered brain of the bastard lovechild of Hieronymous Bosch and Franz Kafka.
