  1. Having lived in a hurricaine area and been through several, I feel for them. Even though it is only projected to be a cat 1, flooding is a distinct possibility.

  2. Ever since Katrina, I’ve made Weather Underground (http://www.wunderground.com) my go-to source for severe weather information. They have live updates of all available tracking models (http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at201209_5day.html), and Dr. Jeff Masters is a brilliant meteorologist who explains all the possibilities in clear, concise language (http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/article.html). They also have lots of personal weather stations around the country linked into their site, so you can see the information live within a mile or less of your target location.
    This site got us safely through many tornado warnings and severe thunderstorms down in Texas, and I can’t thank them enough for their work.
