High court denies gay marriage appeals [legal immediately in IN, OK, UT, VA and WI]

he Supreme Court has turned away appeals from five states seeking to prohibit same-sex marriages, paving the way for an immediate expansion of gay and lesbian unions.
The justices on Monday did not comment in rejecting appeals from Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.
The court’s order immediately ends delays on marriage in those states. Couples in six other states should be able to get married in short order.
That would make same-sex marriage legal in 30 states and the District of Columbia.
But the justices have left unresolved for now the question of same-sex marriage nationwide.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) conceded that the state of Wisconsin lost its fight to ban same sex marriage on Monday when the Supreme Court declined to hear gay marriage cases in multiple states.
With the Supreme Court’s punt back to the appeals court that struck down the ban, county clerks in Wisconsin have started issuing marriage licenses to gay couples. And Walker seems to have accepted that this is the end of the road for the state’s ban….

He fails to realize SCOTUS did not take the cases at this point because just up to this time, there has been no conflicting rulings from circuit courts. They are waiting to take a case based on conflicting rulings from circuit courts.
It hardly means the fight is over forever. Our guys just like to surrender.

I have not heard anything and when I check online, it says no decision has been made yet. I called and wen through the prompts just to be told no decisions had been made and I could “hold” for a representative. I held for about 15 minutes but had to go to work and haven’t tried to call back.
I want to give my notice at work but not until I am sure I will be receiving my money.
Just looking for others’ experiences with Social Security.

Really, after this latest gey-marriage outrage, and the ACA-enabling previously, the Freepers should be calling up their reps and pushing for Roberts to be impeached.
