Saturday Odds & Sods: The Best Of Adrastos 2023

Birdmen by Max Ernst.

2023 felt like it had more than 12 months, 52 weeks, and 365 days. The blistering heat of the record-breaking summer took its toll on your humble blogger. But it was an excellent annum for satire. At the risk of repetition: Trumpism is a disaster for the country and the world but it’s a gift for satirists.

As always, I struggled with cutting this year’s list down to size. For the third consecutive year, it’s a Top 40 list. The big change is the omission of Saturday Odds & Sods posts. They’re sui generis, which makes it harder to compare them with other posts. I’m making my life easier with this move. I think Lady Day would approve:

This year’s exercise in egomania is a mix of political, cultural, and downright silly posts. There are even several that were picked for their snappy titles. I’m not telling you which ones.

I hope y’all have as much fun perusing this list as I did compiling it.

Enough with the introductory blather.
