Our perambulation through the North Sea Jazz Festival archives continues. This time, the great funk bassist Larry Graham and his crack band Graham Central Station. Clearly, one of the greatest band names ever.

I was acquainted with one of Larry Graham’s nephews and was lucky enough to meet him several times. I asked Larry what working with Sly Stone was like. His reply, “A mess but never dull.”

Graham Central Station was never dull either. Let’s set the Wayback Machine to 1996, cross the pond to Rotterdam, and enjoy some classic funk.
