Bush happy for Mary Cheney

The Bush’s did their year end interview with People magazine. Here are some quotes via Political Radar

Oh what will teh gay haters say…

“The Vice President took me aside and gave me the good news. He and his wife, Lynne, are very happy for Mary,” Bush said. “I think Mary is going to be a loving soul to her child. And I’m happy for her.”

Laura on why Condi isn’t interested in the Prez job makes Condi sound pathetic…

“Probably because she is single, her parents are no longer living, she’s an only child. You need a very supportive family and supportive friends to have this job,” the First Lady said.

Just like Bill…

In response to a reader question about contributing to society post-presidency, the President mentioned HIV/AIDS and malaria initiatives and the “Freedom Agenda” but said that he will think about that course after his presidency.

He’s no LBJ…

“I must tell you, I’m sleeping a lot better than people would assume,” he [Bush] said.

Nope he thinks he’s Truman—–

  1. Well, I can understand his hesitancy. It is much more difficult to do public service when you are incarcerated for war crimes than when you are a much respected retired citizen. Perhaps he can arrange for a radio in his cell.

  2. for all his many and considerable faults, LBJ had more humanity in his left testicle than the Chimp will ever achieve.

  3. Then there was Johnson muscling the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act through Congress, knowing the political price he and the Democrats would pay. Johnson wouldn’t have deigned to pick George Bush from his nose.
