I wish I could forget recent history and believe that he was detained for legitimate cause.
However, knowing our recent history of renditions in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I have to consider the possibility that the old system is so deeply ingrained that removing the easy route to jail with resulting illegal torture can’t be removed without a major overhaul.
