Let’s raise a glass in honor of the great character actor who died today at the age of 96:
I remember Harry Morgan back to December Bride with Spring Byington. He was the consummate character actor and always turned in a good performance. May his family find comfort and support.
96 is enough. thanks for the memories.
He was also excellent in Inherit the Wind as the judge.
I used to schedule my Star Fleet classes around MASH.
Morgan could often bring some serious humanity to the show. That scene with the last bottle of whiskey was one of them.
Of course he was also Bill Gannon, Friday’s partner on Dragnet. Maybe I’ll watch and episode of that just for fun.
“Is that about right Ma’ma
I still think that Harry Morgan’s Major Pott, wandering around in the catacombs in “What Did You Do in the War, Daddy?,” is one of the funniest bits on film.
I remember his performance in High Noon. Chilling.
Rest in peace. We’ll miss you.
