Good morning, everyone!
In case you were wondering (and even if you weren’t), my absence last week was due to my house being partially under water after the historic Dallas floods of May 23rd-24th. Let’s just say that a house full of 90db apiece blowers (7 of them) and loss of access to my PC for a week wasn’t conducive to doing posts (or much of anything else) , and my anxiety / borderline hysteria about spending our retirement savings on “like it never happened” to try and prevent black mold – and repairs – and recarpeting 3/4 of the house – didn’t help much.
OK – so what do we have this week?
Sarah Palin On Trump VP Shortlist?
Townhall.com ^ | May 15, 2016 | Christine RoussellePosted on 5/16/2016, 1:22:42 PM by Maceman
Ben Carson–who the Washington Post called the both best and worst campaign surrogate of all time–revealed that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, among many others, is on Donald Trump’s shortlist for potential running mates.
[…]He had just explained to the reporter riding along that he wanted no role in a Trump administration when news arrived of a new poll naming him as the best liked of a list of potential running mates. “Who else was on the list?” he asked quietly, maintaining his usual inscrutable calm. The most favorably regarded contenders after himself, he was told, were John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Chris Christie. “Those are all people on our list,” he said. “Well, not you,” Candy reminded him sharply.

Same here. I stopped taking Sarah Palin seriously when it became clear that she was more interested in being a celebrity and showcasing her family on reality TV than she was in policy. Add to that her fingernails on a chalkboard voice that makes Hillary’s shrill shrieking sound almost lyrical by comparison, and we’re left with a walking punchline rather than a VP pick.

Sarah’s husband was in a serious accident, and has a long recovery ahead of him. She might take herself out of consideration just due to this.
Well, she didn’t exactly quit her “look at MEEE” bus tour to fly to his side, so there’s that.
On the other hand, after the election, could Sarah be appointed to Trump’s cabinet, or a high level adviser???

Sarah Palin is a total fav on the right; the rest of the country has NO use for her. You don’t get elected by votes from the right only. And, it should be noted, she has done nothing since the ‘08 election to help her image, but has made herself into almost the very caricature the left painted. That was disappointing.

To those who claim Sarah Palin has “too much baggage”.
Too much baggage is code for “I’m a chickenshit conservative”.

I want her in charge of sunsetting the interior or environment departments. Let her shut down BLM.

Trump said that his VP needs political experience. She has no legislative, diplomatic, or significant business experience. She has been a school board member, mayor, and governor of a sparsely populated state. Her one “deal” was with the oil industry a decade ago.
To: MacemanI knew Trump would at least consider Sarah for VP. He likes her and she loves him.I maintain that Trump can win regardless who he picks for VP, so why not pick someone that will make liberal heads explode?

I’m betting Trump is just floating that name to make the libs go ape sh*t…

Loki, who is secretly running the GOP this year, isn’t going to let Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods be the VP pick. Yes, she’s crazy and chaotic, but predictably so.
The VP choice this year needs to nail down that “wait, WHAT?? that’s crazier than Trump!” vibe. So UNpredictably chaotic.
Palin will get some vanity appointment, like Ambassador to Outer Dumbfuckistan.
Sorry to hear the floods found your house. Here is to hoping that you don’t find any serious issues.
So this discussion about Palin, it is more evidence supporting my theory that the Freeper maroon brigade are not fully impervious to reality; they just have a slower absorption rate The rate of intake appears to be inverse to the perceived levels of “rat” or “librul” support for the opposing opinion. The proof is complex, but the formula is easy:
H=O*(L^s)
Where H is the calculated half-life of Freeper radiant hate-based faith, and L^s is the amount of imagined Liberal Media attention raised to the power of community stupid. O is the universal Obama constant (irrational and approaching infinity).
I am currently trying to calculate the Clinton-Abedin factor, but the preliminary results suggest that this hypothetical variable is equally attractive and repellent to Freepers to a degree that makes me too nauseous to obtain reliable observations.
More later. Stay dry
“H=O*(L^s)”
I’ll be looking for your published monograph on this.
