Sen. Ted Cruz flew to Cancun, Mexico, with his family this week as Texas dealt with a winter storm that left millions without power, Fox News has confirmed.

To: BrookhavenTrips to Cancun aren’t done on the spur of the moment – I’d assume his wife and kids have been planning and anticipating this trip for a while now. Probably wouldn’t have been easy to cancel at the last minute due to freak weather conditions, but I agree – it’s a bad look.

To: BrookhavenIn other news, Biden pushes gun control and the unemployment rate is on the rise due to leftist policies, but by all means worry about where and when the Cruz family takes a vacation. /spit.

To: JonPrestonGood on him. After the whole election mess and the inauguration mess and the whole Pelosi-led fricking Capitol mess, yeah good on Ted.Hope he is sharing a margarita with his wife right now.
To: JonPrestonMaybe the author of this article should bring his Hot Air to Texas and generate some energy to warm some houses. Cruz isn’t even in Texas and airports here were closed until yesterday. People know you can work in DC or Cancun and still do your job, right? BS story and post.

To: volunbeerWhat does Cruz have to do with the power grid in Texas?
Not much, but as a US Senator he has some role in procuring and expediting federal emergency aid to his constituents.
To: Turbo PigNo Senator should be running off on a vacation when this kind of mess is happening in their State.
You find a way to help- even if you truly don’t care about your constituents.
He deserves to get blasted.

I am surprised so many people here don’t see it.
The ads used against him are going to be brutal.

To: RummyChickWord is that he’s returning immediately. Guess someone on his staff finally pointed out the obvious.

To: StravinskyToo late. What a moron.
I really can’t believe he doesn’t have better strategists. Or maybe he is just too elite and doesn’t listen to them.

To: deadHe’s special. No freezing in the dark for him. No boiling water for his special family. Broken pipes? Snap his fingers and dozens of plumbers show up.
Nope. He’s in Cancun reading about the disaster his constituents are dealing with. What could he do? How about being here! Experiencing what his “voters” are dealing with? It is sickening how many people give a pass to the “special” people. Why can’t he deal with Texas issues? FGS! He represents TEXAS not DC!

To: hcmamaNot to mention that he was born in Canada to a Cuban father and is not a natural born citizen.

In my younger days I worked for a political candidate who said those exact words to me.
He got _crushed_ in the general election.

To: Shadylake“Apparently a lot here are just fine with him and hope he gets a lot of rest during all this. Incredible.”
It’s circling the wagons, but something this DUMB is what could cost Republicans the entire state government. He’s now the poster-boy for the 2022 elections, when it should have a referendum on the people in DC.
To: wildcard_redneckPeople who get upset when others try to live their lives because there is a crisis going on are virtue-signalling creeps.
Oh, stop. Just stop. Ted Cruz made a mistake, a big one.
When people in your state are freezing to death, literally, you don’t run away for some fun and sun in Mexico. And, no, it doesn’t matter when he booked the trip.
This is another self-inflicted wound. Sometimes the smartest guy in any room sure acts like an idiot. Either this or he’s caught the swamp entitlement disease.
To: Shadylake
I’ll be right back guys – have to go get something.

To: CA ConservativeExactly what is Cruz supposed to do about the power outage?
Cruz should be in Washington working on getting emergency relief to Texas–federal or otherwise.
I’m sure this was a pre-planned vacation
So? He doesn’t manage the local 7-11, he’s a US senator.

Ted Fled.
Wassamatter, Canuck Cruz, too cold for you?
Yup. He wants to be Cancun Cruz. But I think he found it too hot for him.
